A native of Oxford, Alabama, Dr. Jack graduated from Oxford High School before continuing his education at the University of Alabama.

In addition to his academic achievements, he was a football letterman under Coach Gene Stallings and a member of the 1992 National Championship Football team. He is married to the former Meleesa Kuntz, and they have two sons, Evan and Colin.
